We’re so excited to feature you on our show! Here’s exactly what the filming process will involve:
- We’ll hop on a recorded video call with you via Zoom so that you can show us around virtually and we can ask you questions about your job, the animals you work with, and what kids and adults can do to support your mission. This Zoom call will last between 30 minutes and 1 hour. In addition to the interview, we’d like for you to share with us 1-3 impactful stories of the animals you work with, i.e. where they came from, how they have made progress in your care, etc. If video chat connectivity allows, we’d love this segment to include a short tour, but if you need to stay in one place in order to be on a live video call, you can record and send a tour to us with any smart-phone or camera. We will be recording the call on Zoom, but it would also be extremely helpful to have another person film you speaking on the Zoom call with a high quality camera at the same time, so that we can use the higher quality footage if necessary.
- We’ll also feature higher quality videos from you. The kind of footage we’re looking for includes:
- 2 minutes of video showing close-ups of the animals and their features.
- 2 minutes showing care staff interacting with animals (in whatever manner is safe based upon the species you work with) or of staff doing work tasks.
- Any additional videos you can share of animals displaying natural behaviors or interacting with each other.
- Any important video you have of rescues or demonstrating conservation issues that you face. (ex. palm oil plantations, timber cutting, litter, light pollution, etc.)
- Finally, we’d like to have each of our partners film 2 minutes of nature in their area with no humans talking for our “Moment of Mindfulness” segment so that we can encourage our viewers to take a minute and slow down to appreciate nature. This can be done in any peaceful, natural area.
