OUR MISSION
We’re two friends who love animals and grew up watching as many nature shows as we could. Now that we’re the “grown-ups” we wanted to create a show about animals for a new generation. The goal of Kind Safari is to teach kids about all kinds of animals by talking to the people who are truly working to help animals live their most happy and natural lives. We seek to promote compassion and kindness towards all beings and give our viewers concrete steps that they can take to help animals and the planet.
In each episode, we’ll focus on a different kind of animal and talk to the experts who are helping them at sanctuaries, rescues, wildlife research stations, and more.
RAY
Hi, I’m Rhianna Axon, AKA Ray. I have wanted to learn and teach others everything there is to know about animals since the moment I could talk. I grew up saving baby birds that flew into windows, reuniting baby mice with their mamas, and observing animal behavior every chance I got. I went to school at SUNY Oswego where I earned my degree in zoology. After I graduated, I moved across the country to work with birds of prey, raptors, reptiles, amphibians, big cats, chimpanzees, farmed animals, and more! I truly enjoy teaching people about animal behavior, their natural history, and their amazing personalities.
Kales
Hi, I’m Kaleigh Rhoads, AKA Kales. I’ve had a passion for helping animals as far back as I can remember. By the time I was seven years old, I could inform any adult about endangered species. In college, I decided to study Anthropology and Conservation at UC Berkeley and learned all about primates. After graduation, I traveled to Borneo to volunteer at a wildlife rescue with orangutans, gibbons, monkeys, sun bears, and more! I spent several years after that working at a sanctuary with chimpanzees who had been rescued from the pet and entertainment industries in the United States and more recently at a sanctuary that cares for rescued farmed animals. I love being able to share the stories of animals and showing people how incredible they are.
